First 100 Days
My immediate priorities as Sheriff will focus on restoring professionalism, improving public safety operations, and increasing transparency.
Key priorities include:
- Conducting a top-to-bottom review of Sheriff’s Office operations
- Strengthening patrol policies and training to improve public safety
- Beginning a full assessment of the Lee County Jail and its infrastructure
- Establishing the foundation for a dedicated Crimes Against Children unit
- Strengthening narcotics enforcement targeting major traffickers
- Improving transparency and public engagement with the Sheriff’s Office
- Evaluating outdated communications and operational infrastructure
The goal is simple: a Sheriff’s Office that works for the people of Lee County.
A Leadership Approach Shaped by Service
My leadership philosophy was shaped long before this campaign.
As a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, I learned that leadership means accountability, discipline, and responsibility for the people you lead.
In law enforcement, I continued that commitment while serving with the Opelika Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, including service on the Lee County SWAT Team and certification as an FBI Firearms Instructor and Law Enforcement Sniper.
These experiences reinforced a simple truth:
Leadership is not about holding a position.
Leadership is about setting the standard and taking responsibility for results.
That is the standard I will bring to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Restoring Professional Leadership
Leadership sets the tone for the entire organization.
The Sheriff’s Office must operate with professionalism, integrity, and clear expectations for everyone who serves within it.
Early priorities will include:
- Selecting command staff based on leadership ability, experience, and integrity
- Establishing clear expectations for professional conduct throughout the agency
- Creating open communication channels for deputies and staff
- Conducting a comprehensive review of agency policies and operations

Rebuilding the Culture of the Sheriff's Office
A Sheriff’s Office is only as strong as the people who serve in it.
Deputies must know their leadership supports them while also holding everyone to the same professional standard.
Initial steps will include:
- Listening sessions with deputies and staff to identify operational challenges
- Reviewing policies to ensure they support effective policing and officer safety
- Establishing clear performance standards and accountability measures
- Strengthening leadership practices that reward professionalism and integrity

Addressing the Condition of the Jail

- Ensuring policies allow deputies to end dangerous pursuits quickly and safely
- Evaluating patrol deployment across the county
- Reviewing training standards to ensure deputies are properly prepared

Protecting Children
Protecting children is one of the most important responsibilities of any Sheriff’s Office.
Initial priorities will include:
- Beginning the process of establishing a Crimes Against Children Unit
- Strengthening partnerships with schools, prosecutors, and child advocacy organizations
- Supporting School Resource Officers and strengthening school safety efforts
Law enforcement must work not only to respond to crimes against children but to prevent them whenever possible.
Combating Narcotics
Illegal narcotics continue to affect families across Lee County.
Initial efforts will focus on:
- Reviewing narcotics enforcement strategies
- Strengthening cooperation with state and federal task forces
- Targeting major trafficking networks responsible for distributing narcotics
Stopping narcotics trafficking protects families and communities.

For nearly 30 years, the Sheriff’s Office has operated under the same leadership.
Experience can be valuable, but long-term incumbency without meaningful change can lead to stagnation.
